Ok, I have had my FJM7 for about a month now, and I feel like I can share an honest opinion. this is a fantastic guitar. The neck is amazing! It feels great, stands up to, or surpasses any of my other guitars, minus my music man guitars. The pickups sound great, they’re super “crunchy”. That’s the best way I can think to describe what I hear when I play it. The bridge is so nice. I have never had a mastery bridge on any of my offsets so I can’t compare, but I have to imagine this is going to be close. Really brilliant bridge, worth buying on its own. Finish looks great, electronics are perfectly fine.
Now, I have my reasoning for the 4 stars, and not 5. The trem felt like it would fall apart at any moment, it just felt shaky, and a bit flimsy. The “lock” on it straight up did not work. I replaced the trem with a fender American vintage trem, and that really turned this guitar into a monster. I love it, but I can’t give it a perfect score, that wouldn’t be fair, and in all honestly, if the guitar wasn’t under $600 new, I would not be giving it 4-stars for this issue, I would have been returning the guitar, but for the price, all things considered, this guitar is fantastic, and it’s entirely possible I got a defective trem system on this model. Those things happen.
Would I suggest a foals guitar to others? 100%, I already am. Would I buy another? 100%. Don’t feel put off by my one criticism, this guitar is amazing. It traveled across the world, and landed in my hands set up quite well. At this price point, I do not believe anyone can beat It.
